Schumer: Democratic Nominee For President Won’t Come Down To Superdelegates

New York Senator Charles Schumer says he strongly believes the Democratic Presidential Nominee will be decided in the primaries not through superdelegates.

Schumer made the statement while in Watertown this week.

He says close races like the one between Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) usually work themselves out before it comes down to superdelegates.

Obama has a slight lead over Clinton in the delegate race right now.

Schumer says he is a supporter of Clinton because she is a close friend of his, but he also says there is nothing wrong with Obama calling him a “strong candidate”.
