John and Cindy McCain throw stones -- and they shouldn't

Cindy, you brought this on yourself.

Cindy McCain has made a point of attacking Michelle Obama’s patriotism by repeatedly evoking this gaffe:

“For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country,”

Perhaps saying that was a mistake on Ms. Obama’s part. After all, she does owe America so much for making her work twice as hard for everything in her life just so she can be roundly dismissed as an “angry black bitch”. But that’s not the point. The point is that by making this a campaign issue Cindy McCain is saying that potential first ladies are fair game.

So let’s talk about Cindy McCain.

1: Cindy McCain is a junkie and a thief.

Cindy McCain is a pill popping drug addict who used her own non-profit relief agency, American Voluntary Medical Team, as a front to steal Percocet and Vicodin. When she was caught she used her political connections to avoid prison and instead she pulled a Lohan and slept it off in rehab.

Boy, It must be pretty easy to be proud of your country when you get busted for being a thieving drug addict and you never see the inside of a jail cell.

But wait, there’s more!

2: Cindy McCain’s crooked business deals almost cost John McCain his political career.

Cindy McCain was the business partner of none other than Charles H. Keating Jr. of “The Keating Five” fame. So it turns out that John McCain wasn’t just pressuring banking regulators on behalf of Mr. Keating in exchange for lavish gifts and free vacations to the Bahamas. He was also looking after his wife’s business affairs.

From the The Arizona Republic:

On Oct. 8, 1989, The Arizona Republic revealed that McCain’s wife and her father had invested $359,100 in a Keating shopping center in April 1986, a year before McCain met with the regulators.

Ouch! But wait. John isn’t as dumb as he looks!

On the shopping center, his defense was simple. The deal did not involve him. The shares in the shopping center had been bought by a partnership set up between McCain’s wife and her father. (The couple also had a prenuptial agreement that separated Cindy McCain’s finances and dealings from his.

Phew! That was a close one! Good call on the prenup John! You wouldn’t want to be associated with slimy low lifes like Cindy McCain!
