Ready to Whoop ‘Em on Day One

In Virginia’s Appalachian mountains, 95-year-old Charles Edwards presented Barack Obama with a big maple stick that he had carved as a gift. Obama held it in his hand and shook it, smiling:

“I like it! And if members of Congress don’t pass my health care bill, I’m ready. I’ll whoop ‘em. I’ll whoop ‘em. That’s right. They’d better not mess with me. I’ll have that stick.”
