Firming up the D.C. office

By Avi Zenilman, Politico

The Obama campaign just announced its congressional liaison team, which "will serve as the primary contact for the individual Senators and House members and will ensure that the member of Congress' counsel is considered in overall message strategy, campaign planning and execution."

The team, which will make up a sizable chunk of Obama's tiny official D.C. presence, consists of Obama Senate Chief Counsel Michael Strautmanis (who was Michelle Obama's paralegal a couple decades back), Deputy to the Chief Counsel Michael Robertson, former Deputy to the Policy Director Karen Richardson and Rep. Henry Waxman's Chief of Staff Phil Schiliro -- who, like many other Obama staffers, is a former Tom Daschle aide.
